Compact flotation

The effective removal of small oil droplets and other harmful compounds is difficult to achieve using traditional gravity based methods.

Opus has developed their compact flotation technology in response to the industry demand for greatly improved removal of contaminants from produced water.

Opus compact flotation technology is based on flotation principles, whereby small gas bubbles aid the separation process. Gas bubbles are introduced so as to collide with oil droplets, which attach to the bubbles as a film. Owing to their low density, these combined particles are easier to separate, allowing oil removal at a much greater rate than traditional methods.

The Opus Compact Flotation Unit (CFU) is a multi-phase separator that has no moving parts and does not require any external energy. Compact, cost effective, easy to install and maintain, the Opus CFU offers numerous additional benefits to meeting offshore industry regulations. Package supply, installation and commissioning is assured by our dedicated project team:

Opus design engineers consider local variables for each bespoke design. Our experience and knowledge of designing other key process vessels means we're able to consider the whole system and judge the best arrangements. Opus Compact Flotation Units can be configured in a number of ways to provide optimal performance.
